Liliana Silva Cerqueira appointed head of human resources at MDS

Liliana Silva Cerqueira has been appointed head of human resources at MDS, the leading Portuguese and global insurance and risk consulting business. Liliana’s goal is to boost MDS’s employee potential, devolp the company’s human resources policies in Portugal and support operations in Angola and Mozambique.

Liliana Silva has a degree in Psychology from the University of Minho, postgraduate degrees in Human Resources Strategic Management from APG and Cognitive-Behavioural Psychotherapies from CRIAP, plus ANJE’s Advanced Programme in People Management. 

She began her career as a human resources technician at Silva e Sistelo, a manufacturing company in the textile sector, and then moved to Optifone – Distribuição e Comércio de Telecomunicações, building the HR department from scratch, redesigning policies and procedures and taking over the head of human resources role. 

In 2011, Liliana Silva managed HR at STEF, Porto, and in 2013 was promoted to head of organizational development in Portugal. Her responsibilities included; budget control, KPIs, project design, training, team monitoring and leadership empowerment, performance management, talent recruitment programmes and career development plans.

Liliana Silva’s skills will now be used to serve the MDS Group, which has over 200 employees in Portugal.
