MDS integrates marine insurance business to support sector growth in Iberia and Latin America

Adrián Larrondo will operate from MDS's offices in Madrid and will serve as Managing Director of the Marine Business, helping to strengthen the Group’s service offering, technical capabilities, and portfolio of innovative marine solutions. As global maritime trade continues to demonstrate significant growth potential in the coming decades, marine insurance has proven essential in addressing increasing geopolitical risks. 

Adrián Larrondo brings a solid and international professional track record in the marine insurance sector, having worked at some of the leading law firms specialised in maritime law, as well as at prominent insurance brokerages. He holds a Law degree from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and furthered his education with a Master’s in Maritime Law and Insurance from the University of Southampton (UK) and was awarded a British Council scholarship to undertake postgraduate studies in the UK.

MDS has been building its presence as an Iberian platform. In 2024, it announced the acquisition of its first insurance brokerage in Spain, Cobian Insurance Brokers, and in 2025, it further strengthened its operations in the areas of Financial Lines, Corporate Risks, and Reinsurance, expanding its capabilities in specialised sectors across the Iberian and Latin American markets.
